Dr. Mark McManis is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Neurology at Baylor University and Director of Neurodiagnostic Research and Neuroinnovation at Christus Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. He oversees clinical functional neuroimaging of patients being considered for brain surgery. Mark combines his knowledge of neuroimaging and neurophysiology with his knowledge of statistics and programming to explore using AI to increase the efficiency and accuracy of neurodiagnostic imaging. Mark has led and collaborated on a number of research projects related to advanced neuroimaging and neurosurgery, including functional mapping, multi-modal imaging techniques, and machine learning. In addition, he has held director-level clinical positions for over 20 years, successfully building imaging programs from the ground up and also has served as a consultant to other hospitals. He has held positions as Faculty at Rice University School of Social Sciences, University of Tennessee Medical School, University of Texas School of Public Health and School of Psychology, and University of Arkansas Medical School. His previous clinical positions have been at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. Along with two other founders, Mark has launched NeuroMedPro, LLC and serves as the company’s Chief Scientific Officer.
